hi everyone
sorry guys, I just don't feel like blogging anymore. However I can't bring myself to delete the blog. I still read all your blogs though. I guess I just prefer to be a lurker.

AARGH
After being nothing but a MAJOR INSANE NEVERENDING HASSLE to work with, and also not paying me even the miniscule agreed-upon amount that would cover film/developing, Loser Actor Dude emails me today. "Would you be interested in taking headshots of my wife, she takes a good picture."
He's got to be kidding. I wanted to write back "no way in hell" but I thought it would be way too rude, so I just deleted his email.

Searching for a House
Despite my continued unemployment, we have started looking for some kind of property to purchase, if for no other reason than to stop throwing money away on rent every month. The results of our initial search were very disheartening. We can either buy a very small townhome near the location we want (smaller than our current place), or an ugly house far away that will give the BF quite a commute and may fall down at any minute. I hope it was just a bad week for listings.

Fabric in Vancouver
I needed some fabric, so I went to this store called Dressew Supply on W. Hastings. What a fantastic store, in the basement they have a huge clearance section with fabrics as cheap as $1.00 CAN a meter. Makes me wish I knew how to sew.

Intelligencia
One time I was in a meeting when another person in the meeting referred to us all as "intelligencia."
I was amazed. I thought, "If we are the intelligencia, God help the rest of the world." (we were working on a certain low-rated reality tv show you probably never heard of)
Then I was sure he was mistaken. People who can't spell intelligencia certainly aren't the intelligencia.

Howdy Folks
Me
1. Trip back home to see the fam, fun and relaxed. I was busy and surrounded by family all the time. For someone who is unemployed and in a new city where I don't have very many acquaintances, it made me terribly homesick. I am too old to be homesick.
2. Despite the credit card charge incident, Independence Air turned out to be OK, especially for the price. If the prices are that cheap in the future, I might fly them again.
Advice from Me
1. Do not pay to import wine into Canada. You will end up paying over 100% duty. It's ridiculous.
2. Bring your own water on planes, the beverage cart never comes fast enough when you're thirsty.
3. If you are lucky enough to live near your family, visit them often and hug them a lot and tell them you love them.
4. Don't be friends with people who make you feel bad about yourself.
I don't do well with change, so I'm going to be all wonky for a few days.
